Past Charity Projects
Here’s a brief overview of our recent charity projects:
EAST 7 to EAST 12 - Support for the Animal Welfare Association Tierisch Grenzenlos e.V. with total donations of €38,800
Founded in 2010, the animal welfare association Tierisch Grenzenlos e.V. dedicates its volunteer efforts primarily to animals in need.
- Support for various animal welfare projects on Lesbos, in Larisa and Patras in Greece
- Organization of food donations and establishment of a food storage facility, expansion of fresh water supply, various construction works in and around the rescue stations (so-called “shelters”)
- Medical and physiotherapeutic care, spay/neuter services and campaigns for stray animals, emergency treatment of injuries, organization of EU passports and travel fitness examinations
- Immediate aid for animals in need following the flood disaster in Thessaly (September 2023) and the earthquake in Vrisa (early 2024)
- Organization and implementation of the Bamberg animal food bank (“Bamberger Tiertafel”) since August 2024
EAST 6 - Support for the Storchenhof Vogelschutzwarte Loburg e.V. with a donation of €1900
The dedicated staff there take care of:
- Providing medical care for storks
- Raising young animals and releasing them into the wild
- Providing shelter for non-flying animals
EAST 5 - Support for the Tierheim Dessau-Roßlau with a donation of €750
The Dessau and Umgebung Animal Welfare Association operates the Dessau Animal Shelter and covers the following areas:
- Rehoming animals to new homes
- Admission and medical care for pets of all kinds at the Dessau Animal Shelter
- Care and neutering of feral cats
- Dog walking sessions with shelter dogs
The donation from EAST 5 benefited the Dessau Animal Shelter and was used to expand the shelter.
EAST 4 - Support for the Pfötchenverein Dessau-Roßlau with a donation of €700.00.
The Pfötchenverein Dessau-Roßlau offers the following services for the region:
- A food bank for needy pet owners
- A pet visiting service for nursing homes and daycares
- Lectures and project days on animal welfare
- Rehoming animals to new homes or foster care
EAST 3 - Support for the Förderverein Zoos Aschersleben with a donation of €303.43
As a partner of the Species Conservation Foundation, this organization is involved in the rescue of critically endangered species, such as the Roloway Diana Monkey and the Ethiopian Wolf. Additionally, the zoo participates in international breeding programs, such as those for the Roloway Diana Monkey and the Golden-headed Lion Tamarin.
Furthermore, as a partner of the WWF, the supporting association sponsors a Siberian Tiger in eastern Russia and helps to curb deforestation and poaching there.
EAST 2 - Support for the Luchsprojekt Harz for the reintroduction of lynxes in Germany with a collected donation of €107.00
